As moms we are always looking for the best way to plan out our days, well today I am going to tell you what I do.
How often have gone to sleep thinking, what did I really get done today?
Did I really just clean all day?
I had so many things on my to do list did I even accomplish anything?
Oh do I know the feeling.
I am known to share every small task I do during the day to my husband, mainly to prove to myself I did something. (Yeah, he obviously really loves me, ha!)
I have tried out a variety of different methods of creating my daily schedule and this “non schedule” is what currently works great for me. Not only does it set my day off on the right foot, but I know how to improve each day too. *Adapted from The Five Minute Journal*
Each morning, before I start my day I write out the following things:
- 3 things I am grateful for
- 3 things that would make my day great
- My top 1-3 business goals for the day. (Along with estimated times to complete them.)
- An affirmation: I am …
- Note any family activities/appointments for the day.
- Dinner plan
Every evening before I go to bed I answer the following questions:
- What are 3 things that made today amazing?
- How I could have made today better?
So there you have it.
This method has really allowed me to focus on everything good I have going on each day.
The biggest thing though, is I am almost always complete the business tasks I set for my self. If I complete them all and still have time to work, I grab my master to-do list and pick something out to do.
Ending the day with how I could have made today better really allows me to reflect and gain insight on what to implement tomorrow.
How do you plan out your day?
These are great tips Charlotte! I especially like the evening routine/question where you write down what made the day amazing. It makes you really look through your day through the ‘positive’ lens instead of the ‘beat yourself up’ lens. It’s almost like the way you begin your day by writing down 3 things you are grateful for. As they say, the more you are thankful, the more you get to be thankful for.
Thanks for sharing,
