I figured you might be interested in learning a little more about who I am outside of my business. I just love to learn about the personal lives of others and really get to know who they are and what they love to do. That is what you are getting today. Be prepared for a lot of pictures to get a sneak peak into my life. So who the heck am I? I love to backpack and rock climb! I did not find any pictures easily for this, however before we had my son we took 2 epic vacations virtually back to back. We first hiked the John Muir Trail (211+ miles) in 16 days, then hoped on a plan and rock climbed in Greece for 10 days then hiked around Switzerland for 7 more! Talk about epic summer! My hubby is an engineer and loves doing woodwork projects. He designed and together we built my sons crib. We are currently working on his toddler bed. I am also handy around the house! My husband was super busy the week before my son’s first birthday, so it was up to me to build his sandbox. It turned out amazing! I guess I do more than woodwork. We have slowly, but surely done all the upgrades on our house ourselves. Our most recent one being the master bathroom! I am the tiling expert and my hubby does all the tile cutting and measuring. We have gone rock climbing several times since my son was born and I got this adorable picture of my hubby “teaching” my son to belay. (Don’t...

As moms we are always looking for the best way to plan out our days, well today I am going to tell you what I do. How often have gone to sleep thinking, what did I really get done today? Did I really just clean all day? I had so many things on my to do list did I even accomplish anything? Oh do I know the feeling. I am known to share every small task I do during the day to my husband, mainly to prove to myself I did something. (Yeah, he obviously really loves me, ha!) I have tried out a variety of different methods of creating my daily schedule and this “non schedule” is what currently works great for me. Not only does it set my day off on the right foot, but I know how to improve each day too. *Adapted from The Five Minute Journal* Each morning, before I start my day I write out the following things: 3 things I am grateful for 3 things that would make my day great My top 1-3 business goals for the day. (Along with estimated times to complete them.) An affirmation: I am … Note any family activities/appointments for the day. Dinner plan Every evening before I go to bed I answer the following questions: What are 3 things that made today amazing? How I could have made today better? So there you have it. This method has really allowed me to focus on everything good I have going on each day. The biggest thing though, is...

As I dive deeper into the online business world, I feel this intense pressure and expectation to succeed quickly, work 15 hour days and join every program because you “need” them. Geez, I have enough mommy guilt already. Every where you look there are opt-ins, webinars or sales pitches all about making $10K in 10 days, methods to finally reach 6-7 figures, and how to get your first 5 figure month. I am not going to lie, that all sounds great and many of us may have those as goals. However, if you are like most moms, that is not why you started your business. In the past 2 weeks I have spoken to 12 moms to see what they are struggling with in running a business. (I challenged myself to talk to 100 moms, I would love to chat with you too!) Guess what, money has rarely even been mentioned. Do they want to make money? Heck yes, we are running businesses after all, but for moms is it about so much more than business. They want freedom, to feel accomplished, peace of mind, and to learn how to actually get it all done in the little time we have. Most of all, they want to be home with their kids. It is such a special time in our lives that many moms actually put their dreams on the back burner for the chance to be home with them. I believe whole heartedly that you can create a business and life you love, while raising your kids. Is it easy, heck NO....

How often do you have a task or activity in business or life that you know you need to do, but keep putting it off? It may be something that will take you literally 5 minutes, but you keep putting it on a list or ignoring it for whatever reason. Whether you are not sure how to do it, it is our of your comfort zone or even it is just a boring task you need to get it done. Today I challenge you to do one of those tasks you are putting off. Grab your computer, paper, broom, scrub brush and get it done. Take the 5 minutes to learn how to do it or just ask someone, then do it. Get your family involved, if you can. If you have a task or activity you need to do that will take 10 minutes or less, don’t write it on your list, don’t wait until later, just do it. My hubby used to always bug me to do this, but it was not until the last 6 months I have started following his advice. It has changed my life. It is so much better to just suck it up and complete the task then keep waiting. Not only is it done, but there is such an accomplishment that comes with completing it, no matter how small. So stop reading this and get to it! Start the Right Business! Grab your FREE copy of my 6 questions to help you design your dream business. GRAB IT...

Becoming an entrepreneur was something I always felt like was a given. *Long Post Alert* When I was 9 my parents opened up a vocational school, that is where it all began. I watched them passionately go after their dreams with everything they had. I saw the good, the bad and the ugly. We helped or hung out most evenings and weekends as they quickly grew their business. Then graduation time came (for their school) and it solidify my dream to open a business too. I watched hundreds of people walking across the stage smiling, crying, pumping their fists with complete joy that they had completed school. We heard stories over and over how their lives were changed forever by the staff, teachers and support they received. My parents built that, talk about inspiring. I left for college knowing I would one day start a business, but I was not sure what it would look like. I took a part time job, for fun, at a coffeehouse and feel in love. From that moment everything I did was to get me to the goal of opening my own. I finished my Bachelors in Business, got my culinary degree (from my parents school) and worked any where I could to get more experience. After I graduated, my parents and I actively began looking for and putting offers in on coffeehouses for sale. Nothing worked out. I was heart broken, but also held off on searching more after meeting my husband. I think love does this, it makes you realize life can lead you in different directions and that...
